About

Alan Frost ARPS
Alan Frost ARPS

I love making fine art images in black and white; whether they are land or seascapes, buildings or people, abstract work etc – I could go on. Quite simply anything which attracts my eye. ‘Variety is the spice of life’ and I apply this motto to my choice of subject matter.

Prior to the beginning of 2012 I largely worked in colour, but following a visit to the Isle of Eigg off the West Coast of Scotland, I converted a seascape to monochrome. In the process I discovered for myself the beauty of black and white and have never looked back.

In April 2017 I was delighted and honoured to be awarded an Associate Distinction by the Royal Photographic Society with a panel of images depicting countryside churches. You can view the panel here.

I am a member of The Image Circle, a group of six like minded photographers who staged their first exhibition in November 2017 at The Oxmarket Centre of Arts in Chichester.

I have a number of other photographic projects in mind for the future and will continue to write about these as well as using this website to showcase my work.

Have enjoyed looking at your images from our day in Bath, and the write up! It was an enjoyable day. See you at Dorchester at somepoint in the future. Hope Helen enjoyed herself too.

Thank you for following my blog Alan. I can see from a quick look at your work, that mine isn’t a patch on it. Never mind that, I now have another fairly local photographer that I can follow, in the hope that I can learn something from him.

Stunning black and white images, Alan.
Thanks for dropping by my own blog and following, but to be honest, your B & W landscapes are much more impressive. Maybe some of that is the very fact that you live in a rural area which I envy. I have to be (mainly) satisfied by the inner city and a local rather flat uninspiring beach. I’ll cross over to your website now and explore further

Thanks for your kind words Vicki. I am fortunate to have a good variety of both coast and country without having to travel too far, but being part of a large city also has its attractions.
